Bronson  - Training Photos, Videos and Updates

Pawsitive Notes - Tracking Bronson's Milestones

Got a Question?

  • 1/20 - Bronson is doing well with the new environment and is out with the pack already. He can be a little overly interested in some of the dogs and they are giving him cues to not be overbearing. He's having a good time playing with the pack. Bronson had a good walk with Mark today. He's a lot of dog to handle! He has bonded really well with Mark and is already showing a bit of possessiveness. He snarfed at Mark's wife in the office and got corrections from Mark regarding "resource guarding."
  • 1/21 - Bronson got out on a walk with Jen today. He's incredibly stubborn, but he does listen if he believes that you are serious. He was much less mouthy today, but still put his mouth on trainer's hands in protest of receiving corrections. Luckily he hasn't been putting any pressure into it, but is still something we want to work on to stop from happening altogether. Overall, a good walk and great to see improvement in one day!
  • 1/24 - Bronson has done really well with his sensitivity to touch around his face and head. He is much more comfortable and secure in that touch and is more appropriate in his signs when he isn't appreciating it. Although there is still more work to be done. He has done extremely well in the pack and is taking excellent direction in not being overbearing in the pack, from both trainers and other dogs. It's been great to see him let his guard down and just be a big, giant, floppy puppy!
  • 1/28 - Bronson had a good walk today. He's still a lot of puppy to handle, but did better with heeling, fighting the leash and collar less and less overall mouthiness in his frustrations with not getting his way (although there still was a bit). He sat and had to wait for another dog to pass on the sidewalk and did a bit of pulling after they passed. Nothing aggressive, but just excitement. However, he did get some feedback on not following directions. The next time, with a dog across the street (so a little further away/easier) he did an excellent job of listening to "Leave-It". He's definitely showing improvement, he just has a long way to go as he knows he's a big boy with some big power!
  • 1/31 - Bronson is still a lot of dog on walks, wanting to sniff when and where he wants and creating a walking pace all his own. We are working on trying to get him to heel better, but for such a big boy, our pace must be like molasses to him! We are using "Leave-It" as well when sniffing at something too long and he is showing improvement but still has a ways to go. The huge thing today is that besides shaking his head a few times when annoyed by the prong collar, he did not bite at the leash or trainer hands once during the walk!!! A huge step for Bronson! He's also been really good lately about receiving affection, especially on and around his head, which we know was an issue before. :D
  • 2/3 - Bronson had a good walk today. He did try to bite at the leash/trainer hand a couple of times in frustration again, and was quickly reminded that we don't do that. However, he made great strides in other areas. He did much less sniffing and pulling around with better listening to "leave-It"; "Let's Go" and "come." He also sat right down coming back in to get unleashed, without even being told. He knows the drill!
  • 2/4 - Bronson had a good amount of wild and stubborn built in today and struggled at first on his walk with Mark. He was refusing to heel, biting the leash and giving general attitude. By the end of the walk, he was much better behaved. Mark said he's full on launching into the throes of being a Corso teenager. He ran off more energy playing with Drogo and later with the jolly ball. He definitely needs to expend some play energy before going to work.
