Cooper  - Training Photos, Videos and Updates

Pawsitive Notes - Tracking Cooper's Milestones

Got a Question?

  • 12/28/21 - Cooper is settling in to his surroundings, and is beginning to warm up to trainers Mark and Morgan! He was initially more comfortable with Morgan, but after a couple of days, he even approached Mark and gave him cuddles. He got out on his first training walk, and although he initially showed some nervousness, he quickly gained confidence and did a great job! He is also enjoying the snow, and giving us lots of zoomies and play bows!
  • 1/3/21 - Cooper continues to open up! He is still reticent when it comes to Mark, but with reassurance he is becoming more open to interaction. He is working on his obedience skills through play, both to refine those skills and to build confidence. He is also becoming much more relaxed on walks, and is beginning to look forward to them. We are seeing reactive behaviors when he is approached by other dogs and people, but he is very receptive to instruction. Way to go, Cooper!
  • 1/9/22 - Cooper had a major breakthrough today, having his first social interaction with trainer dog Drogo. He was aggressive initially, but was very responsive to correction, and did a great job of managing and working through his reactions. He displayed a great deal of insecurity and fear-based reactivity at first, but with Drogo's guidance and steady presence, slowly began to relax. He even engaged Drogo in play! By the end of the session, he was having a great time, and his confidence was measurably increased. We are so proud of his progress!
  • 1/17/22 - Cooper continues to work on his social skills, and is gaining more confidence each day. He is now eager and excited to come out and play, and is improving on his response to Drogo's cues. He is also working on his obedience through play, and loves it when we bring the ball out! We are working with him on some demand-barking that he is doing while in his crate, when other dogs are moving in and out of the area, or are fed before him. For this behavior, we are teaching the "Quiet" command and self-soothing skills.
  • 1/26/22 - Copper has been working hard on his leash reactivity, and is showing great improvement! He still experiences initial reactions, but they are significantly reduced, and he is very responsive to verbal corrections. We are seeing some reactivity to other dogs when he is in his crate (especially when he is eating), but he is very responsive to verbal corrections in this area as well. He has also been getting out for regular socialization sessions with Drogo, and is showing excellent progress in reading cues from both Drogo and the trainers. His favorite thing is the ball, and it has proven to be our most powerful training tool! Cooper loves to learn when there is a game involved, and we have worked this into his recall and impulse-control behavior, and even his walks (minus the ball). His confidence is continuing to build. Way to go, Cooper!
  • 4/26: It has been so good to have Cooper back in the pack! Cooper's social skills continue to improve! He has gotten into a larger pack and has been playing more. Nice Work, Cooper!
  • 8/11/22: Cooper is having a blast, and his favorite game so far is chase! He LOVES it when he and I play!
  • 11/12/22: Cooper likes working with our new employee, Monique!
