Dilly  - Training Photos, Videos and Updates

Pawsitive Notes - Tracking Dilly's Milestones

Got a Question?

  • 9/14 - Dilly is out in the full pack already and doing a great job of socializing. She's also sitting on command in the group, even with distractions.
  • 9/16 - Dilly is doing well, but she definitely shows signs of being a bit young as we continue to work with her. One area where she is certainly learning a lot is with the pack and her socialization skills. She has been very overbearing in her attempts to play and hasn't been paying good attention to social cues. The pack is working her hard in this area and she is starting to have a better sense of boundaries. The first few days she wasn't too keen on the crate and had to be coaxed into it. Now, she is going in freely and without any issue. She has been super calm when in her crate and obviously much more amped up when out playing with the pack. Although there have been numerous times where she will sit calmly or lie down out there while others play, as I'm sure you've seen from the photos. We have had zero run ins with her nipping or biting so far. She has done some jumping and we are working on "off." Dilly has improved on name recognition and coming when called when modeling off of the pack. She definitely has a puppy attention span and we will continue to work on her focus and ability to follow directions with things like Stay, Come and so on.
  • 9/18 - Dilly continues to improve in her work with the pack and overall listening skills, especially with distractions.
  • 9/21 - Dilly is definitely benefitting from the program, no worries there. She is assuredly learning a lot with her socialization skills and paying attention to social cues in the pack. She is eager to please, she just has the attention span of a young pup. We are continuing to work her obedience and focus. She and I had a wonderful walk today. She pulled a bit for the first quarter of the walk and then I was able to get her to focus, heel and follow directions and the rest of the walk was an absolute joy! She's a very smart girl and it shows when she's focused. She is learning and showing improvement. We were just out doing some obedience work again today, specifically on stay and come and you can tell some of it is starting to click (especially when she's focused)!
  • 9/23 - Dilly is crushing her walks. She will still get a bit excited and start to pull here and there, but all it takes is a simple verbal correction such as "Heel; shh, uh-uh" or the like and she eagerly falls right back into place. She is even holding a stay on command in order to pick up her poop. Such a good girl!
  • 9/25 - Dilly is very eager to please. Even in the midst of play, the slightest verbal interjection will get her to stop and focus on her trainer. She still has the attention span of a young pup, however, and will often go back to what she was doing before. The good news is that she will break and focus on the trainer every time, she just needs the repetition to have the concepts sink in.
  • 4/28/21 - Dilly’s been super sweet and cuddly, and warmed up right away. We are working on obedience and listening skills, and she's doing awesome.
