Fritz  - Training Photos, Videos and Updates

Pawsitive Notes - Tracking Fritz's Milestones

Got a Question?

  • 5/11 - Fritz is settling in quite nicely and is already out with the big pack working on proper socialization and play!
  • 5/12 - Fritz had a pretty good walk today, all things considered. He definitely has a puppy attention span as was evidenced by the first half of his walk. However, by the second half, he was showing his eagerness to please and responding well to the heel command or any verbal cue such as a sharp "tsch" or "uh-uh". He would still get distracted and want to stop to sniff something or pull toward someone he wanted to say hi too. A great start though and he shows a lot of promise for catching on quickly with consistency and repetition!
  • 5/18 - Fritz has gotten much better at using his listening ears. He is now sitting before every meal, on command and can even do so out in the training run with a pack of other dogs! He still has a puppy attention span and we will work to reinforce good listening behaviors!
  • 5/19 - We worked some recall in the park today and Fritz started to get the hang of come, after some good Sit/Stays, but struggled with sitting upon returning. A definite challenge, but we'll continue to work it and try and reinforce the concept. He continues to improve with his heel during walks and is focusing a little better, but still has work to do!
  • 5/22 - Fritz gets better and better with his listening and responsiveness, but still has a puppy attention span. He will break focus frequently, but a gentle reminder and he snaps back.
  • 5/26 - A new puppy has joined the pack and happens to have more energy than Fritz! Buddy boy is finally getting a feel for how overwhelming play can be and seems to be learning from that and tempering his own play style a bit now.
  • 5/27 - Fritz has improved greatly. His obedience is good for a 6 month old puppy. He knows the commands and now it's a matter of reinforcing them through the short attention span phase of his development. This attention span is age appropriate, but can be frustrating. Over the next several months it will be critical to keep up the training. We are receiving a lot less talk back than when he originally came with obedience and corrections. He is an absolute joy, wicked smart and eager to please.
  • 5/29 - Another stellar walk in the books. Fritz is so eager to please and takes the slightest verbal corrections to heart. He is constantly looking up and checking in to make sure that you are pleased with the choices he's making. He's such a wonderful boy and we are absolutely in love with him!
