Leo Fluffhead  - Training Photos, Videos and Updates

Pawsitive Notes - Tracking Leo Fluffhead's Milestones

Got a Question?

  • 1/17/22 - Leo is settling in to his new surroundings, and is already warming up to us! He is having a great time exploring the training area, and has begun his training walks as well. He is showing quite a bit of reactivity on leash, lunging and barking at every dog and person he encounters. We are working with him on corrections and new response patterns, and he is already showing a willingness to learn. We are also seeing his resource guarding behaviors, growling and lunging in his crate when he sees other dogs eating their food. We are working to correct this behavior as well. He is a very sweet boy, eager to learn and please.
  • 1/26/22 - Leo is doing an excellent job on his training walks! He still experiences initial reactivity, but is now responsive to verbal corrections, and is able to continue his walks without full reactions. He absolutely loves praise and being told he is doing a good job, and we have attached a video below of Leo responding to praise on the walk. We are seeing a significant lessening of his resource-guarding behaviors as well, and are continuing to correct this when it surfaces. Wonderful progress, Leo!
  • 2/2/22 - Leo crossed a major milestone this week, working on his socialization with trainer dog Drogo! He was reactive at first (lunging, snapping), but was very responsive to correction, and was eventually able to control his initial response. He even began to show interest in Drogo and engage in play! We began the introductions on leash for safety, but were quickly able to graduate to off leash so they could run and play together. Leo is a bit assertive in his play style, including trying to mount Drogo several times, and we are working with him on responding to Drogo's cues.
  • 2/7/22 - Leo had a major breakthrough this week, graduating to being out with the full pack! He did a great job working on his social skills and making new dog friends. He can be a bit assertive and dominant in his play style, and we have been working with him to refine his response to cues from the other dogs. His reactivity on leash continues to improve, and he is now responding to verbal corrections only. Way to go, Leo!
  • 8/5/22: Leo is having a great time being back in the pack and making some new friends!
  • 8/8/22: Leo is having a great time playing with his friends.
