Mango  - Training Photos, Videos and Updates

Pawsitive Notes - Tracking Mango's Milestones

Got a Question?

  • 7/1 - Mango adjusted very quickly and is out in the run with the whole pack, making friends and having a good romp around the run!
  • 7/6 - Mango is having a blast out with the pack. Today, they got the zoomies and started tearing around the run chasing each other and through the kiddie pool. So adorable and hilarious!
  • 7/7 - Mango loves being rough and tumble in the run, but is still working on learning social cues from other dogs. She has rather the bull in the china shop mentality towards play and isn't always picking up on the signals from dogs who are less prone to her play style. Hopefully, with more exposure and instruction from us, she will recognize these cues.
  • 7/8 - Mango is struggling a bit to listen to directions while she is distracted in play. We are working on getting her to focus, even with such fun distractions, when she hears commands.
  • 7/10 - Mango showed some improvement with listening today while distracted. She's also paying more attention to social cues from other dogs!
  • 7/13 - Mango is showing a bit of attitude at some dogs passing her crate on occasion, giving them some growls as they pass. It's extremely intermittent and she hasn't been having any issue in the run with other dogs.
  • 7/15 - Mango took a pack walk with Zeus today. Zeus is here for aggression and has quite a bit of attitude. When he first came into the run, Mango lunged aggressively at him (likely feeding off of his energy) and was instantly corrected. She attempted another lunge shortly thereafter and received another correction, which she took seriously the second time. We were then able to take our pack walk and she did incredibly well. She pulled slightly at first and needed a few gentle reminders to heel, which she quickly did. She sniffed at Zeus occasionally, but listened to "Leave-It" and gave him space. Very proud of her listening after her initial reaction and correction.
  • 7/20 - Mango's social skills have made leaps and bounds. She's quite comfortable playing in the various packs we have had during her time here. Her manners will continue to need managing to the extent that if she is too abrupt in her interactions or play with another, she will need a verbal intervention to mitigate any potential escalation.
