Oso  - Training Photos, Videos and Updates

Pawsitive Notes - Tracking Oso's Milestones

Got a Question?

  • 1/9/22 - Oso is settling in to his new surroundings, and is already eating like a champ! He went out on his first training walk off-premises, and had a great time. He did show some reactive and leash-pulling behaviors, and we will work to correct those in the coming days.
  • 1/17/22 - Oso crossed a major milestone this week, having his first introduction with trainer dog Drogo! He was very excited to meet Drogo, and even engaged in play. He can be a but assertive in his play style, and needed some corrections when he didn't respond to Drogo's social cues, but he did very well overall. We will continue these interactions to build his skills and confidence in the coming days. We are also working with him on his obedience and manners, and he is doing a great job! He still has a tendency to jump on people and to demand-bark when he is told "Off," but his responsiveness is improving.
  • 1/26/22 - Oso is showing great improvement in his obedience skills, as well as his tendency to jump on people. He has become very responsive to the "Off" and "Quiet" commands. He is greatly enjoying his socialization sessions, and is excited to run and play with Drogo! However, we are seeing an increase in dominant behaviors, such as trying to "mount" Drogo, and being overtly dominant in his play style, seemingly impervious to Drogo's avoidance cues and corrections. He has also displayed some reactivity on the walk, but is responsive to correction and instruction. We are continuing to work with him to reinforce appropriate social and leash etiquette. Overall, Oso displays a very sweet, intelligent and trainable disposition, and Mark feels that consistency in training through the adolescent phase will help build upon his foundation. Great work, Oso!
