Phyllis  - Training Photos, Videos and Updates

Pawsitive Notes - Tracking Phyllis' Milestones

Got a Question?

  • 6/1 - Phyllis is nervous in her new environment, which is to be expected. However, she did an excellent job getting out in the run with Jen and even accepted some love and pets throughout the day!
  • 6/3 - Phyllis is getting more comfortable in her new environment. Today, she played a bit of ball with Jen out in the run!
  • 6/4 - Phyllis is warming up more and more! She got out with Mark today and eagerly sought his attention, getting snuggles, cuddles and hugs. She's still much more reserved with Jen, however.
  • 6/5 - Phyllis is warming up to Jen a bit more, finally! They played a game of chase in the run, with Phyllis play bowing at times to engage the romp and accepting pets periodically throughout the game.
  • 6/9 - Phyllis went on a pack walk and did well with new friend, Stella. She was stellar for the majority of the walk, showing no issues with dogs, people and even some llamas and goats we passed. She finally showed us a little reactivity at the very end of the walk with a lady and two dogs we passed. One of the other dogs displayed reactivity in kind. It's great that Phyllis is now comfortable and bonded enough with us that she exhibited a bit of that reactivity and resource guarding so now we can give corrections and continue to try and expose her to similar situations to work that issue. She got out in the full pack today after her walk and totally rocked it. We kept increasing the dogs we added in today and she got along with everyone, without issue. She became quite the social butterfly and started to engage in play with nearly everyone, making a bunch of friends in the process today. She had an absolute blast!
  • 6/12 - Phone conversation with Mark for updates.
  • 6/16 - Philly is doing well. Just this morning, before I came into the office, Mark said she showed some resource guarding around her crate with Drogo, Mark's Cane Corso (who she had just been outside playing with). So, she received a correction for that. That's the first bit of that behavior we've seen in almost a week. Again, it's good that she's showing a bit of this with us now so that we can start working it with her. This begins laying a foundation for her work with you guys, her favorite resource! Philly showed a bit more stubbornness on her walk today in some areas as well, she's definitely comfortable enough now to challenge some boundaries. She did a bit of pulling and not listening to "Leave-It" when overly sniffing random things. After a correction, she remembered her manners and did well the remainder of the walk. The one area she killed it in, during her walk, was passing other people and dogs. We had some barking at us behind fences and even passed a family with an off leash dog in the park without any incident. Every encounter was prefaced with a firm "Leave-It" before we got close to the dogs and people and she obeyed in those instances perfectly, receiving lots of pets and praise afterwards.
  • 6/17 - Philly got out and worked with her parents and Maude today. She did well in her pack play time today afterwards, only have one instance where she got a little snappy, but well within her right as she was giving a correction to the playstyle of some of the other pups. A quick verbal intervention and the moment quickly subsided. Excellent work. She greeted a new pup with lots of attention and play today as well!
  • 6/19 - We've had a number of new friends join the pack over the past few days and Philly hasn't skipped a beat in welcoming them in and engaging in play. She hasn't been overly possessive of Mark or Jen in the pack either.
  • 6/21 - Philly got out and worked with her parents and Maude again today. She did an excellent job in her pack work and even helped a new, dog aggressive dog, take the next step into pack interactions, coaxing her to play some. She did show a moment of reactivity when another dog sniffed at her water bowl in passing today, earning a quick verbal correction, to which she immediately disengaged.
  • 6/22 - Another couple of members joined the pack and Phyllis is doing an excellent job of welcoming them in and getting them to engage.
  • 6/24 - Phyllis had another appointment with her parents today and did very well the rest of the day. She's rocking it now! Zero issues today around people, dogs, food, etc. Such a good girl!
