SAWYER and TIMBER - Training Photos, Videos and Updates

Pawsitive Notes - Tracking SAWYER and TIMBER's Milestones

Got a Question?

  • 6/18 - Sawyer is nervous, naturally, but has already taken treats from the trainers and given kisses through the crate to Jen. Great start for the first day!
  • 6/20 - Sawyer is still pretty nervous, exhibited by an upset stomach this morning. However, he is doing really well with the trainers now, allowing Mark and Jen to touch him. He's even allowed us to pick him up!
  • 6/27 - Huge day today! Went for a walk and Sawyer got a correction from Mark when trying to redirect at him after being surprised by some wild chihuahuas at a fence. Sat outside the pool for stranger exposure and Sawyer did so well! Passed by chihuahuas a second time and a stranger on the sidewalk without any issue!
  • 7/2 - Excellent walk! Sawyer ignored the crazy chihuahuas today with a simple "Leave-It." He sat in front of a group of kids at the park and observed. He gave one grumble and a simple "Ugh-ugh" got him to immediately stop and continue watching. We were passed by a guy on a skateboard and he was completely unaffected!
  • 7/6 - Great walk again! We sat next to kids waiting to go swimming and Sawyer did a good job. He was on high alert, but no real issues. Even had kids running on the sidewalk next to us. Gave one little grumble and stopped immediately with "Leave-It". Walked right next to the group of kids with zero issue! Said hi to a guy pruning a tree later and he gave some barks. Got a small correction and immediately stopped.
  • 7/9 - Sawyer had his best walk yet! We had a guy surprise us and start running right in front of us. Sawyer jumped a bit at the surprise, but otherwise did not react. He got a little nervous with a stroller that passed right next to us and jumped in front of me, but again, no other reaction.
  • 7/10 - We graduated to walking downtown St. Johns and Sawyer behaved so well! He showed interest in people we passed, but didn't growl, lunge or bark at a single person or animal! In action, walking pictures are hard to capture, but you can see all of the people we encountered with zero issues!
  • 7/11 - Another perfect walk, this time with a friend! Zero issues. So proud!
  • 7/13 - Sawyer previously used to growl and bark at Mark's son if he came near the dog training area. He now walks over to check him out without any issue!
  • ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • 3/1 - Sawyer and Timber are out in the full pack and having a blast!
