Sheba  - Training Photos, Videos and Updates

Pawsitive Notes - Tracking Sheba's Milestones

Got a Question?

  • 9/8 - Sheba has had some aggressive outbursts initially upon her arrival towards other dogs in the office, but is starting to relax and acclimate to the environment now.
  • 9/10 - Sheba got out with Rodeo and Drogo over the weekend and behaved very appropriately. She really likes Drogo!
  • 9/12 - Sheba has been doing very well with "Leave-It." She will target squirrels, but breaks focus when told "Leave-It." She quickly goes back to targeting again, but it's a great start.
  • 9/14 - Sheba got out with the whole pack finally! She was definitely nervous and showed her teeth a number of times at the various pack members, but did well overall.
  • 9/17 - Sheba continues her pack work. She is still curling her lips or showing teeth when another dog is in her face, so we will continue to work her socialization to help her get more comfortable. She is showing signs that she wants to play with some of the other pack members, but quickly gets overwhelmed by the interaction and stops. As she gains confidence in the pack, the play will come!
  • 9/18 - Great walk! Sheba did some squirrel targeting in the park, but responded instantly to "Leave-It." She's refocusing on the squirrels much slower than before. At the end of the walk, with the last squirrel we encountered, she broke focus immediately upon command and kept walking without looking back. Great progress!
  • 9/19 - Awesome walk! Sheba refocused on walking every time she was told to "Leave-It". She also ignored a couple of obnoxious dogs who were charging and barking behind fences when told "Leave-It." Great work!
  • 9/20 - Sheba did better in the pack today and even played with Drogo a bit. She was overwhelmed and unsure in her play at times, but it's a great start!
  • 9/21 - Great walk! Saw squirrels and a cat. They definitely had her attention, but she listened to "Leave-it" and didn't charge at them!
  • 9/24 - Sheba is now actively engaging with the full pack. She's making great friends!
  • 9/25 - Another great walk. We passed small critters in the bushes and Sheba went to chase, but came right back to a heel with a stern "Leave-It!"
  • 9/26 - Sheba is now comfortable enough to show a bit of sass with recall work. She will choose to run away at first command at times now, but a stern follow up with "Come, Let's Go or Heel" is getting results.
  • 9/28 - Good walk today. We came across many squirrels today. She targeted them, but obeyed "Leave-It" and did not try to chase. Had one squirrel surprise us and dart across the road in front of us. Sheba went to chase, but a quick verbal warning and she stopped to watch it run by!
  • 10/1 - Sheba made a new friend in the puppy, Pearl! Great to see her engaging gently in play with a cat sized dog.
  • 10/2 - Amazing walk today! Sheba walked with another dog, Amica. She was perfect in her heel and sitting on command. She sat on command in front of a squirrel and quietly watched it. The obeyed "Heel and Leave-It" as we passed the squirrel, even with another dog around!
