Trace  - Training Photos, Videos and Updates

Pawsitive Notes - Tracking Trace's Milestones

Got a Question?

  • 8/18 - Trace is warming up to the new environment. She's an absolute love bug with Mark and Jen. She has displayed some aggressive outbursts towards the other dogs in the office and has been very vocal at times. As she increases in comfort, the real work begins!
  • 8/21 - Trace had another aggressive outburst towards another dog during feeding time this morning and was admonished for the attitude. She did get out for some socialization work with Rodeo and Drogo later in the day and did a great job, though avoidance was the tactic for most of the interactions.
  • 8/24 - Trace is doing better in the office. She hasn't had any aggressive outbursts for a few days.
  • 8/25 - Trace had a good walk today. We didn't pass anyone on leash, but there were dogs barking from inside houses and fence lines, and she did a great job listening to "Leave-It" and continuing her walk.
  • 8/26 - Trace had a super long pack walk with office mate, Tilly, today. She did very well with Tilly and in listening to "Leave-It" when passing other dogs on leash in the park. The girls had some off leash time together in the run when we returned as well. The greeted one another and shared space very well, but were both way too tired to explore any play.
  • 8/28 - Trace passed a couple of dogs on her walk today. She did a bit of whining, but listened to "Leave-It" and passed by them without issue!
  • 8/31 - Trace has graduated to the full pack now and is doing well in her interactions with the other dogs.
  • 9/4 - Trace continues to grow in the pack and is now playing with various members of the pack!
  • 9/7 - Dublin, the big white shepherd joined the pack and was a little overbearing for Trace, initially. She gave him a bit of a snarf, which was quickly sorted by Mark and everyone did very well afterward.
  • 9/8 - Dublin stood over Trace at one point today, trying to get her to play with him. She didn't care for it and curled her lip at him. Jen quickly stepped in and gave some verbal cues. Trace immediately listened and separated herself from the situation, instead of escalating. Excellent work!
  • 9/9 - No issues at all in the pack today, even with Dublin. Trace even engaged in a bit of play with Tilly, the terrier/cattledog mix. Super cute!
  • 9/11 - Trace continues to grow in her confidence with the pack and is engaging in more and more play without issue!
  • 9/14 - Trace has helped welcome a couple of new pack members in over the weekend, without any issues. She's happy and excited to make new friends!
  • 9/16 - Trace has opened up a lot and enjoys playing with Gypsy and Tilly, but on her own terms. She will still snarf at someone if they come up on her quickly and surprise her, however a stern vocal command from a trainer will get her to stop in her tracks and push the issue no further.
  • 9/18 - Trace's confidence with the pack, just in general socialization and play, continues to improve!
