2/11/22 - Addie is settling in to her new surroundings, and has already warmed up to the trainers, giving us lots of cuddles and kisses! She is already eating like a champ, and enjoying exploring the training are and showing off her zoomies. Mark has nicknamed her the "Blue Tornado!" Once she developed a bit of trust with us, we began taking her out on training walks to gauge her reactivity. She is doing very well responding to instruction and correction on leash. She is still wary of strangers, as well as the other dogs, and we will work on building her confidence in the coming days. Great start, Addie!
2/17/22 - Addie is doing an amazing job on her training walks! She is still initially reactive when confronted with triggers, but is quick to respond to correction and able to continue without escalating. She is also now working on polishing up her obedience skills and continuing to build rapport with the training team. Excellent progress, Addie!
2/23/22 - Addie is working on her obedience skills through play! This will increase her confidence as well as her rapport with us. She loves playing with the jolly ball and practicing her sit-stay, down-stay, wait, drop it and free!
3/1/22 - Addie crossed a major milestone today, joining the Pack for the first time! We began with trainer dog Drogo, and then introduced packmate Bixby as Addie showed readiness. She did display some initial aggressive response to the other dogs, but was quick to respond to correction, and was soon having a great time playing with the other dogs! She had a wonderful time making new friends and even initiated games of chase. Way to go, Addie!
3/7/22 - Addie is working on her leash walking skills, and is doing a great job! She is still showing initial reactions to other people and dogs, but the reactions are much less severe, and easily corrected. She also loves the sunshine, and has been enjoying hanging out with us in the training area just soaking up the rays. What a sweetheart!
