Bowie and Quill's - Training Photos, Videos and Updates

Pawsitive Notes - Tracking Bowie and Quill's Milestones

Got a Question?

  • 5/18/23 - Bowie and Quill are settling in well. They are having some fun in the warm weather.
  • 5/22/23 - Quill did really well on the leash. He heeled with me for the entirety of the walk and was super receptive to the prong collar. However, he was really nervous the entire walk and was constantly checking behind him and seemed unsure of his surroundings. He was reactive to all the dogs we passed. After I gave him a correction he would stop and keep walking but then react to other dogs again. He also reacted to a jogger running past us but stopped after he was corrected and moved on quickly. Overall, Quill is such a sweet and playful guy but has a lot of insecurity.
  • 5/22/23 - Bowie is also really playful and attentive to me. He had a lot of energy on the walk but quickly learned to heel with me. He understood leash pressure really well. We passed by a dog and and he was doing well but the other dog started to lunge and bark. This caused Bowie to react but he stopped and moved on once I gave him a correction. Overall, Bowie did really great for our first walk!
  • 5/30/23 - Big day for the brothers!! They had good interactions with our dog, Drogo, with only minor corrections to keep them in line.
  • 5/31/23 - Quill- So good at heeling right next to me and walking without pulling. Seemed a lot less nervous on our walk and making great eye contact. Still reactive towards the two dogs we passed however, by the second time he began avoiding and listening to my corrections.
  • 5/31/23 - Bowie- Makes me laugh every time because he always acts reserved and then suddenly so playful. We walked right past another dog and he did really well seemed interested and somewhat nervous but made it through with no reaction. Makes great eye contact and continues to be attentive to me.
  • 6/7/23 - Big success for the boys today! We had a very target rich environment on our walk today, with multiple dogs out for walks. While the boys still got excited and whiney (Quill! LOL) we were able to stop the behavior much faster, AND we had zero altercations breakout between themselves! YA, Quill and Bowie!!
