• ​7/14 - Charlie is adjusting well to the new environment. He's been out with Mark and Jen and is happy to receive pets and affection from them. He's also been out with Mark's dogs, Rodeo and Drogo. He hasn't engaged in any play with them yet, but has been cordial towards them in their interactions.
• 7/17 - Charlie is fully settled in now and starting to show some resource guarding around food, with barking and lunging at dogs as they pass by his crate, if there is still food in his dish.
• 7/21 - Charlie continues to display resource guarding around his food, but does well out in the run with Mark's dogs. He's becoming more vocal as his comfort with us grows as well, so we are working "Quiet" alot in addition to his socialization. We haven't had any displays of jumping behavior yet.
• 7/22 - Charlie got out in the larger pack today and did fairly well. He tried to show some dominant behavior around the other dogs, here and there, and got some verbal corrections in the process to settle him down. Overall, great work!
• 7/24 - Charlie is doing much better out in the pack and isn't acting as dominant. He was even exploring some healthy play with Luna, the German Shepherd, but hasn't quite fully launched into it with her yet. He can still be a bit vocal at times in the office, but is responding more quickly to "Quiet".
• 7/27 - Charlie is still showing a bit of resource guarding, selectively, around his food dish and crate, with some warning growls at certain dogs as they pass by. However, he has shared the water and pool outside with his pack, without issue. He hasn't had any problems with jumping and is getting better about the barking, although there is still work to be done in the area. He's gotten much better at paying attention and listening to us when out in the run with the pack and is more aware of the various social cues being given from his pack mates.
• 7/28 - We challenged Charlie with a pack walk today, with office mate Sauron. Often, pack walks can be harder for dogs and they forget manners, but Charlie was fantastic. He did the slightest bit of pulling, occasionally, but quickly remedied that with simple verbal reminders to heel. Stellar job. He also is becoming increasingly more responsive and aware out in the pack. So proud!
• 7/31 - More dogs have joined the pack and Charlie is doing incredibly well with everyone. He did display a tiny bit of resource guarding again today, around his crate/food dish, but out in the run he hasn't had any problems sharing water.
• 8/5 - Charlie has welcomed more friends into the pack and has had a good streak of not displaying any resource guarding!
• 8/10 - Charlie continues to do well with the pack and variety of new friends! He's become extra affectionate with Jen as well.
• 8/12 - Another stellar walk in the books for Charlie. He's walking like a pro! He still does a little bit of occasional sass barking, which we are continually working on. He's very stubborn in that area, though he's come a long way.
• 8/14 - The pack has grown! Charlie is doing well interacting with the new dogs, for the most part, although he has done some growling again with the new ones around the water bowl and received a few corrections.
