DUBLIN - Training Photos, Videos and Updates
Pawsitive Notes - Tracking DUBLIN's Milestones
- 9/25 - Dublin is doing an excellent job exercising patience with a young Golden Retriever pup, Dilly, who is infatuated with him and constantly trying to get him to play with her and give her attention. Super adorable!
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- 9/9 - Dublin is out in the full pack, doing an excellent job of socializing and checking in to make sure he's being appropriate. Great work!
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- 6/29 - Dublin is out in the pack already and making lots of friends!
- 7/3 - Good walk today. Dublin needs work on "Leave-It" and listening the first time (Willful!). By the end of the walk, he was showing improvement with "Leave-It". Growled and lunged at some chihuahuas barking at us from behind a fence. Received a correction and wanted to reengage, but was able to regain focus and keep going. Had a medium off-leash dog come towards us, at the end of the walk. Owner leashed it in time. Dublin seemed interested but was listening to "Leave-It" very well by this time and we kept going without incident.
- 7/6 - Good walk. Dublin did much better with his heeling. He was still stubborn with "Leave-it" but a gentle pull after 2nd "Leave-It" and he would break focus and listen. We passed a dog which caused him to bark a lot as the owner and dog lingered, however he showed no aggression but rather wanted to play.
- 7/9 - Lots of good stuff today! Great walk. Showing much improvement with "Leave-It". Only needed one reminder, left things alone every other time on first "Leave-It". Very friendly encounter with stranger on walk, seeking affection. Jumped up but settled down with firm "Off." Started getting riled up with dog barking at us behind fence. Refocused on me after second "Leave-It" and kept walking. Held a "stay" on a "sit" for a couple of minutes while on walk, with distractions. Came when called off leash today, with a stern "Dublin, Come".
- 7/11 - Dublin still has the urge to jump up at times, but has been getting more responsive with a firm "Off." Dublin has been doing well with "Come" when focused, but is still struggling a bit when overstimulated and distracted.
- 7/13 - Dublin is definitely showing his stubbornness again with regard to jumping up. He kept jumping up on a person who greeted him during our walk. We definitely need more work and practice with jumping and "Off".
- 7/16 - Dublin's best walk yet! First half he needed some verbal reminders to heel as he was very excited to walk with his best friend, Kenai. Second half, he heeled perfectly! He responded to "Leave-It" every time, without fail today. Had a lady and small dog run in front of us. Dublin did very well with the dog until the lady decided to randomly start running. He pulled to give chase, however, he was just excited and wanted to play, he did not exhibit any aggressive lunging, growling or barking.
- 7/17 - A small, off-leash dog ran up to us out of nowhere today, growling, barking and targeting Dublin. Dublin was excited but returned ZERO aggression. He was very animated and still needs work listening to commands in an extremely high distraction situation like that, but he did not growl or bark at the little dog, which was huge control for him, being surprised and targeted!
- 7/18 - We are working on getting Dublin to "Sit" when he wants your attention, instead of jumping up and demanding it.
- 7/20 - Great walk today! We had 3 little chihuahuas charge the fence and bark like mad at Dublin. A firm "Leave-It" and he kept walking. He did look back repeatedly, interested in the little guys, but repeated "Leave-Its" and he broke focus and continued to walk!
- 7/23 - Dublin is showing progress with jumping up! He will still start to jump up, then get a verbal "Off" reminder. Then he starts to remember that he's supposed to sit. He doesn't get any pets or attention until he sits calmly, then is rewarded with lots of praise and pets.

- 10/4 - Dublin postured up and was a little rough in play with the pack, so received a correction from Mark. He instantly calmed down and behaved more appropriately in his demeanor and play.
- 10/5 - Great job in the pack today! Needed a verbal reminder to be gentle when playing with the puppy, but was immediately responsive to the verbal command to be "Gentle."
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- 11/19 - Dubs has been doing well in the pack and has been gentle when playing with other members. He had a good walk today. A little distracted, so we worked on keeping focus while walking. Came across a family riding bikes and had the opportunity to work "Leave-It". The kids wanted to say hi and he tried to jump on them, so got a refresher on "Off" as well. Great learning opportunities, now to rinse and repeat!
- 11/20 - Dublin got a good walk in today with his new friend Eleven. He's been playing and behaving well in the pack, but definitely showed excitability on leash today. Some stern "Leave-Its" and he listened, but you could tell it was hard for him. A good job on his part, now to keep reinforcing that listening!
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- 6/7 - Dublin is settling in quickly, eager to hang out with Jen in the run and receive an endless supply of sweet, sweet pets!
- 6/10 - Dublin is out with the full pack and doing a great job. He's a little shy in his play, like he keeps expecting to get in trouble. He will play a bit and then look to a trainer to make sure he hasn't crossed any lines. Then, with a good job Dublin, he continues on. Pretty cute.
- 6/11 - It's blazing hot today, so we are having pretty mellow social times in the run today. We've got the kiddie pool out and Dublin is the only one that we've been able to coax fully into the pool. He loves it!
- 6/14 - Dublin is having a great time out in the pack playing with everyone. He's also doing great with his recall, even with distractions among the pack.
- 6/17 - Dublin continues to do an excellent job socializing in the pack. He had a good walk today. He did a bit of pulling but is very responsive to verbal corrections to heel. "Leave-It" on the other hand, needs a bit of work. When Dublin wants to smell something, he means business!
- 6/18 - A new dog was brought into the pack today and Dublin immediately greeted him with proper socialization skills. Within no time they were best buds and were playing their little hearts out!
- 6/21 - Dublin has done so well with everyone this stay. He is socializing and playing but also paying attention to dog and trainer cues in the process. We were able to get him to break off play and come when called repeatedly, which is a huge challenge for Dublin when the other dog doesn't want to stop playing either. Very well done!

- 8/18 - Dublin might still be a little tender from his surgery. Drogo bumped into Dublin and Dublin responded very aggressively with growling, snarling and lunging. I was able to keep them from getting into a fight and Dublin quickly submitted once I got Drogo pushed away.
- 8/19 - Dublin has had zero issues with his walks. He's come across barking dogs behind fences and passed others on leash without issue, besides being extremely interested and a little more dismissive of the initial commands.
- 8/20 - Excellent walk today. Less pulling and much more focused and responsive. He did have one moment where he darted in front of me like he would if startled. There was nothing around to startle him, so I'm wondering if he had a slight, sudden discomfort from his surgery?
- 3/27/21 - Dublin started going on walks today and so far he’s doing pretty good. He was pretty curious of all the new smells but other than that he walked right by my side the whole time. He hasn’t had any aggression towards any of the other dogs either and is all together pretty well behaved.
- -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- 5/9/21 - Dublin's been great so far, he listens well and never has any issues with barking or growling at other dogs.
- 7/21/21 - Dublin is settling in and doing a great job assimilating into the Pack! He went on a great training walk today, and was very responsive to correction and instruction.
- 7/24/21 - Dublin is being a great pack mate! He is enjoying pack walks in the sun, and we are working on brushing up some of his leash walking skills, as well as his obedience. He is having a great time playing under the misters with Drogo in the training area!
- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- 8/22/21 - Dublin is having a great time reuniting with some of his old friends in the Pack, Maca and Tiburon! He is displaying appropriate social behaviors, and doing a great job responding to the other dogs' cues.
- 8/24/21 - Dublin is doing a wonderful job on his walks. He is pulling at the leash a bit, and we are working on refining that. He is very responsive to instruction, and is not showing any reactivity.
- 9/20/21 - Dublin had a great weekend with the Pack! He was a huge hit, and had a wonderful time romping and playing with the other dogs. He was a little insecure at times, when some of the other dogs were a bit pushy in their play, but with some support and reassurance from us, was able to continue without reactivity. He continues to model calm, centered energy in his crate.
