Guinness  - Training Photos, Videos and Updates

Pawsitive Notes - Tracking Guinness' Milestones

Got a Question?

  • 6/22 - Guinness is out in the full pack and having a blast!
  • 6/23 - Another couple of members have joined the pack and Guinness is doing a great job of welcoming them in and getting them to engage!
  • 6/24 - Guinness had a good walk today and even had a loose leash heel on occasion. He's definitely improved in his walking skills. Great work!
  • ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • 4/13 - After a nervous and somewhat slow start, Guinness has adjusted to being here and training. He was apprehensive about being in a pack at first, but has now begun playing with Loki, the Whippet mix. He likes him LOTS. We've been working on listening skills and pulling behavior, and while very stubborn, Guinness is beginning to see that he has to listen.
  • 4/27 - Guinness is doing well with following directions in the pack. He's attempted to engage in some play, but his paw is still bothering him and he's limping around. It's not as bad as last week, but still giving him some grief.
  • 4/29 - Guinness was finally able to get out for a walk today, although still with a limp. It was largely like starting over at first, but after about a half hour, he started settling better into the walk. We are monitoring him today to see how his foot fares after the walk and to see if he will be able to handle regular walks again.
  • 5/1 - Another walk today after a day of rest for his paw. He was still limping a bit, but seemed to be okay. This was a stellar walk for Guinness and a huge improvement from just two days ago! He needed a lot of micromanaging with commands and reminders for what was being asked of him, however, he did very well listening and responding to those commands. He stayed calm throughout the entire walk and would check in here and there for approval, making sure he was doing a good job. It looks like things are starting to click and we just need to keep the momentum and consistency!
  • 5/5 - Another good walk in the books. It's not perfect, but Guinness is successfully going longer and longer in between needing to be told to heel, Leave-It or Let's go. Definite progress! We'll keep working and practicing!
  • 5/6 - We upped the challenges for Guinness today with his walks and he definitely struggled. He loves Liam, Mark's son, so we added that distraction, plus turned it into a pack walk with one of his mates. It ended up being a lot of extra excitement and energy for Guinness and he got an extra tough workout because of it. A good learning experience though, as not every walk is challenge free.
  • 5/8 - Guinness walked solo today and did so incredibly well! He was overly excited at first, so he had to calm down and get corrected before the walk could begin. Once we got going, he did a much better job listening and only needed occasional reminders. Halfway through the walk, he was heeling loosely and needed only the slightest reminder to stay in a close heel!!!
