LEORA GEM  - Training Photos, Videos and Updates

Pawsitive Notes - Tracking LEORA GEM's Milestones

Got a Question?

  • 4/8 - Leora is recovering and Mark said that he is now allowing her to at least go out with his dogs. I think he's going to give it a bit longer before she goes out with the pack as a whole. She had lots of accidents in her crate over the weekend from what I hear, and again this morning. What I cleaned up was solid at least, so that's a good sign for her recovery. She's still very skittish with both Mark and myself, although this morning she allowed me to pet her as I cleaned up her crate. When I came back after washing up, I put my hands next to her crate and she even gave a few kisses, so that's very encouraging!
  • 4/9 - Leora is still having accidents, but is starting to warm up a bit to Jen. Today, she played fetch with a big red jolly ball and even allowed some pets as reward for bringing the ball back!
  • 4/10 - Leora is out in the full pack now and having a blast! She hasn't displayed any resource guarding around her food or the water bowls. She definitely prefers playing with the dogs over the humans, but is warming up to the trainers as well.
  • 4/11 - Leora is still having some accidents in her crate, but has also gone potty outside with the pack, so we are hopeful that their example will encourage her not to go in the crate.
  • 4/12 - Today, Leora went number one and two outside! She drank a lot of water during socialization time with the pack and did have an accident later in the crate. (She's not great at signaling that she needs to go outside until it's too late). However, we are definitely encouraged by her waiting to relieve herself until she got outside with the pack this morning! Hopefully we will see increased examples of this! She is extremely slow to warm, she did well with Jen at first, but still has extremely shy moments. She absolutely lit up to see Mark today, tail wagging and smiling, playing and receiving pets. It was beautiful to see. We are madly in love with your girl. Truly a gem.
  • 4/15 - We had been making progress on going to the bathroom outside, but took a major setback suddenly. She is still going outside, but also has reverted to frequent urination and defecation in the crate. On a more positive note, Leora is starting to actively seek attention and pets from Mark and Jen, even in the midst of pack play. She will also come when called, in the midst of play, but doesn't want to stay or disengage for long.
