Leroy  - Training Photos, Videos and Updates

Pawsitive Notes - Tracking Leroy's Milestones

Got a Question?

  • 7/1 - Leroy is adjusting to the new environment. He barked and growled at Jen when she first got into the office today, but by the end of the day, was calmer with her. He did well out in the run with her, but didn't do much interaction. He's already warmed up quite nicely to Mark, however.
  • 7/2 - Leroy has decided that Jen is pretty great and is seeking pets and attention from her as well as Mark now!
  • 7/5 - Leroy has been doing well in the office with the general pack being around his crate. He did a bit of growling with Drogo hovering around his crate this morning, but hasn't had issue with any of the new dogs coming in and being around him. Today, he and Jen played fetch with the jolly ball and had a blast!
  • 7/9 - Again, Leroy has been doing well with the pack in the office that he is accustomed to. He is giving signs that he's eager to interact with them, but he hasn't gotten to that point yet. We got a new member on Sunday, a big Greater Swiss Mountain Dog and Leroy is struggling with him. Carson walked near Leroy's crate and he did lots of barking and growling. Earlier today, Leroy had to walk past Carson's crate to go play outside and Leroy stopped at the crate to bark and growl. He's been doing incredibly well in his interactions with the trainers and is getting less reactive to people walking by on the sidewalk out front, listening better to the redirection or commands from the trainers.
  • 7/12 - Leroy got out in the pack today, on leash. He had a couple of corrections as he growled and lunged at a few of the pack members, but as a whole did very well with the multitude of other dogs and stimuli! It will take more time and practice before he can freely interact, but he did very well for his first time out with the pack!
  • 7/16 - We had 3 new dogs come into the office today and Leroy did well. He did a bit of barking, but more out of excitement than anything. He hasn't barked, growled or lunged at any of his fellow office mates as he's walked by and has even gone up and given friendly sniffs through the crate.
  • 7/19 - Leroy is doing so well in the office with the other dogs now! He's even had them come up to his crate, sniff around, try to share food and he just seems excited that someone is coming over to say hi! He played an epic game of fetch today with the big red jolly ball, having to work obedience with play, using Sit/Down/Stay/Drop/Gentle and Leave-It. He did extremely well and was completely tuckered out by the end, just plopping down in the run and asking for belly rubs!
  • 7/22 - Leroy was out in the run playing for a while today. When we took him back inside, Mark's wife happened to be in the office, without us knowing. Leroy ran straight to her and calmly walked around her as she said a surprised hello. Then he trotted straight back into his crate. Amazing work! He's only even seen Mark's wife once or twice coming and going from the house while working in the dog run. Super proud of him!
  • 7/31 - Leroy did some more pack work today. This time he got out with a basket muzzle on, so we could allow him to be off leash and engage more with the other dogs. He did very well. He only had one issue, which was when some treats were pulled out to work pack obedience. He went after one of the dogs over the treats and received a correction from Mark. After that, he managed his energy much better and was receptive to commands and warnings from Mark. He had many successful moments today, mingling with the other dogs, keeping his cool when they played and even shared a water bowl with another dog in the pack. Lots of positives!
  • 8/5 - Leroy went after Mark's dog, Drogo, in the office today. Thankfully, with the basket muzzle on. He received correction from Mark and was incredibly obedient and submissive the rest of the day.
  • 8/7 - Leroy got out with Rodeo and Drogo in the run today, with the basket muzzle again, and had ZERO aggressive instances with the boys. Huge step!
