Loki - Training Photos, Videos and Updates

Pawsitive Notes - Tracking Loki's Milestones

Got a Question?

  • 3/24 - Loki is such a charmer, not only with the people, but dogs as well! Another new pack member joined us and within no time, Loki broke through her shell and she was eager to engage in play with him. Such a good boy!
  • 3/22 - Loki is an absolute rockstar and has been instrumental in helping a dog aggressive chihuahua make his way into the larger pack. Loki has done an incredible job of calmly trying to engage in the little guy in play, but also give him enough space to not feel overwhelmed. Such excellent social skills! He is sitting on command consistently, without the aid of treats.
  • 3/18 - Another great walk. Much less pulling and much improved listening, including such things as sitting on command, with distractions!
  • 3/17 - Loki is rocking his Sit and plops his bottom down every time over the last few days! Still not the greatest at holding the sit for long, but he's happy to sit when asked.
  • 3/14 - Loki is doing an excellent job of sitting on command, even in the pack with distractions and without treats. He's also calmed down in the office and isn't whining for attention. When out in the run, he's eager to get pets and cuddles some of the time and thrilled to play with the big dogs the rest of the time.
  • 3/11 - Loki continues to work on listening in the pack. He does a pretty good job, even without treats, especially if you get your serious voice going. Today, the mailperson showed up and told the pack they were doing a great job not barking and making progress, then held her hand up to the fence for them to sniff! Everyone sniffed at her hand calmly and didn't make a peep! Great work! We went for a good walk today and Loki is doing a bit of pulling still, although improving. His sit on command is getting rapidly better, even in the park with distractions. Without treats, it's all about tone of voice. If Loki knows you are serious, he is quick to comply with his sit. Excellent work today!
  • 3/9 - Loki is doing a good job of listening, while distracted in the pack. When we get ready to head back inside, he will sit on command with the other dogs, however, it's hard to catch on camera because he doesn't hold it very long and will get distracted if the others aren't holding a sit either. We continue to work this skill under this new challenge.
  • 3/6 - Loki is definitely a food/treat motivated boy. He knows how to sit and will eagerly do so for his meals and treats! Today, he made a new friend in the pack and they had a great time playing, even in the rain!
  • 3/3 - Loki got some extra obedience work in today. His sit is stellar, but stay still needs some practice/dusting off. Down is decent. He quickly moved on to "Leave-It" and could hold it for about as long as his stays. His recall is fantastic and he knows it. He celebrates by bouncing everywhere and trying to climb in your lap. Such a smart boy. We'll continue, as always to work on finessing these skills. :)
  • 3/2 - Loki is doing really well! He is doing a bit of whining for attention occasionally, but other than that, he's great. He's a total love bug and is having a fantastic time out in the pack, playing with the big dogs. He was a little hesitant at first with all of the large dogs in the pack, but adjusted quickly and is running around and freely engaging in lots of play with the pack. When he's not romping with the big dogs, he's directly underfoot, asking to get lots of pets, snuggles and love!
  • ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • 3/4 - Loki has settled in well and is already out playing and having a blast with the full pack. He does seem to have a bit of separation anxiety, whining that he thinks he should have full privilege to run around the office freely. However, that has gradually been decreasing throughout the day.
  • 3/6 - Loki has moments where he is still whining and we are working on "Quiet." He has really blossomed in the pack and is thoroughly relishing play time. He's been doing well with the beginning steps of basic obedience as well. He's getting "Sit", with distractions, pretty well so far!
  • 3/8 - Loki had some "accidents" in the crate his first few days here, but hasn't had any in days now. He has been going outside with the pack without issue and has gotten great at making sure to vocalize that he needs to go out (more often than the rest of the pack, with that puppy bladder)! He is quite the social butterfly in the group and is getting along with everyone.
  • 3/11 - Loki did pretty well working basic obedience today, especially with sit! Down was pretty rough and we'll continue working to see if we can get him to understand that concept!
  • 3/12 - Loki had a pack walk with buddy Birdie today. He did well. Still some pulling, but not too bad. He's such a smart boy. His obedience was off the chart today! With a treat lure, he was doing excellent with Sit/Stay/Down and Come!
  • 3/15 - Loki was a little more stubborn with some of his obedience today, needing a couple reminders for Sit and help remembering what down meant. His Stay was great and we started working Leave It today! He's a smart boy.
  • 3/18 - Excellent walk today! Worked some obedience in the park. Did very well with Sit and Stay. Still practicing Down.
  • 3/19 - Loki's best walk yet today! Hardly any pulling although was very interested in his surroundings, moreso than usual. Provided the opportunity to practice "Leave It" and "Let's Go." Great obedience work today as well. He's doing extremely well with "Sit" and "Stay," especially with a treat lure. "Down" is still one I'm having to work him into position with (lure him down with the treat). Practiced "Leave It" with a treat in front of him and he's doing incredibly well with that concept! Such a smart and sweet boy!!!
  • 3/22 - Loki hasn't had any accidents for at least 4 - 5 days now. The entire time he's been here, he hasn't had any accidents in the office (outside of the crate). He's doing very well with his basic obedience using treats as a lure, but still has a short attention span for obedience without treats.

  • 4/3/23 - Loki was full of energy, but played really well with our employee Monique in the run. She used the slip lead to walk with him and worked on his engagement while in distracted areas. He was also receptive to the leash pressure when working on his heeling while next to Monique.
  • 4/3/23 - Ruby is joining Loki for this stay and was timid at first, but came out of her shell pretty quickly. We worked on obedience in the run, we then worked on her lease pressure to engage her to walk and heel.
