LOUIE  - Training Photos, Videos and Updates

Pawsitive Notes - Tracking Louie's Milestones

Got a Question?

  • 7/31/20 - Louie is out with the pack again and not skipping a beat. He hasn't engaged in play yet with this group, but he's been comfortable. He's really attached to Jen this time around as well, constantly next to her and practically sitting on her feet to get love and affection. He's been super sweet.
  • ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • 6/19/20 - With such a short stay, there won't be much to report, but Louie has instantly gone out with the pack and is in a group of 7 - 9 other dogs. He hasn't had any issues and has even engaged in play with a few of them! He remembered Jen and was excited to see her and hang out with her in the pack.
  • 2/4 - Louie is nervous in the new environment, naturally, but he went out with Jen into the run without any issue. He allowed himself to get leashed up and then went exploring. To help him feel comfortable, Jen sat and he instantly went over to receive lots of pets and affirmation, which he relished. Good start!
  • 2/5 - Louie went after Mark last night and got corrected for attempting to bite him. He was really clingy with Jen today, though he did growl a few times at her as well, so we worked out in the run on building his confidence, especially with Mark and attempting to engage in play with a ball. He did not want to venture too far away from Jen but he did play a bit. He's still unsure and adjusting to everything and will likely show more attitude as he gets comfortable, which will allow more opportunity for training. He's super sweet when he wants to be (which is only with Jen so far)!
  • 2/7 - Louie had a rough first few nights, aggressively going after Mark repeatedly. He growled at Jen a few times as well the first couple of days (around food and hovering above his head), but nothing like the attack mode he was in with Mark (which Jen witnessed on Wednesday). Yesterday, they were finally able to break through that reaction and he's doing much, much better. Today he's been out romping around in the run, practicing his obedience skills, being gentle when receiving treats, getting lots of pets and praise and even some extra time in playing with balls. He's finally settled in and enjoying himself much more.
  • 2/10 - Louie is doing great! He has bonded with Mark finally and actively seeks attention and affection from him. He's also out in the pack now, working on being appropriate in play and listening to commands while distracted by other dogs. He's even shared water bowls with other dogs out in the run!
  • 2/11 - Louie had a good walk today. He got a bit overly excited by dogs barking at him from a fence line (which is always the hardest for any dog) and forgot his manners and listening ears a bit, but was quickly corrected and refocused. He worked hard on "Leave-It" and "Let's Go" during his walk. He had a blast playing with his friends in the run throughout the day today and is working on "Gentle" both with people and fellow four legged friends.
  • 3/23/21 - Louie's been doing really well on his walks and hasn’t been showing any reactions towards other dogs or people. He also hasn’t shown any signs of aggression towards us when we’re petting him.
