Lucky  - Training Photos, Videos and Updates

Pawsitive Notes - Tracking Lucky's Milestones

Got a Question?

  • 11/4 - Lucky is still pretty nervous in the new environment. She's doing pretty well with Mark and actively seeks his attention. She spent the first part of the day growling at Jen as she was a new addition to the office (as far as Lucky was concerned). She finally went potty outside with Jen and ate a bit of food by this evening. The growling has ceased, but she's still wary (and slowly letting down her guard as she realizes Jen belongs here and is safe).
  • 11/5 - Lucky got to hang out in the office with Jen today, to work on building trust and comfort. She got to snuggle on the bed next to Jen's desk, received some treats and praise and eventually allowed Jen to give her some pets. They even played a bit outside in the run!
  • 11/6 - Lucky has taken to Mark's wife Lia and son, Liam. She is allowed to be out and about in the office with the family around. Her sound sensitivity to the trucks has decreased quite a bit.
  • 11/8 - Lucky is settling in well now and is starting to relax. She was a little nervous at first with Jen, after not having seen her for a couple of days, but warmed back up in a matter of minutes. She's now out with the pack and attempting to engage in play with the other dogs. She's especially fond of Drogo (Mark's Cane Corso)!
  • 11/11 - Lucky met Mark's nephew over the weekend and within a few minutes of barking, she calmed down and quieted. He joined us out in the pack and within a couple of minutes, Lucky was running over to say hi and receive a couple of nervous pets. Amazing! She barked a few times at Jen in the office, when she came in again, but quickly remembered her, tail wagging and begging for pets. Our walk today was challenging. She did extremely well at first, walking along the sidewalk with the noisy traffic, a bit nervous, but very brave as well. The first half of the walk was excellent, although she did a bit of pulling. The second half she flipped a switch and struggled or backed up at nearly every intersection, afraid to continue the walk, but for no apparent reason. Each time took a bit of coaxing and pulling and she would continue the walk to the next intersection. We'll continue to work this.
  • 11/12 - Lucky had a much better walk today! She walked along the noisy traffic again, nervous still, but trusting. She was more responsive to heeling and only balked at one intersection towards the end of the walk!
  • 11/15 - Lucky had a lovely walk today. She didn't want to leave the park, but a quick "uh-uh" and finger wag and she gave up trying to resist the walk and continued on. Such a good girl! We passed other people, bicycles and dogs without any issue, only interest. She was not bothered by the traffic today!

  • 1/9/22 - Lucky is settling in to the new surroundings, and is already eating like a champ! Now that she is more comfortable, she got out on her first training walk-off premises, and she did a great job! She really relaxed into the walk and enjoyed it! She did show some nervousness and reactivity when approached by other dogs and people, but was very responsive to instruction. We are working on her leash pulling as well. Lucky is off to a great start!
  • 1/17/22 - Lucky crossed a major milestone this week, getting out to play with her old friends Drogo, and LOTP packmate Abby! She is really coming out of her shell and working hard on her recall and obedience skills as well, through play. We are so proud of her progress, and will continue these exercises to build her confidence in the coming days.

  • 6/2/22: Lucky is having a great time being back in the pack and playing with his buddy, Drogo!
