Rizzo and Tucker  - Training Photos, Videos and Updates

Pawsitive Notes - Tracking Rizzo and Tucker's Milestones

Got a Question?

  • 7/16 - Rizzo and Tucker are showing signs that they are starting to settle in now. They are both eating their full meals, without hesitation and feeling more comfortable exploring the run. Both Rizzo and Tucker are now seeking pets and attention from Mark and Jen as well!
  • 7/19 - Rizzo and Tucker are doing well! Both dogs are actively seeking pets and attention. They'll wander off and explore and then come back for more lovin's. Mark got them out with the big pack and they did a great job for their first time. One energetic dog was a bit much for Rizzo at one point and she snapped at her. Rizzo got a correction from Mark (squirt from the hose). After that, they had no issues in the pack. Jen attempted to get them out in the pack again today. They did well at first, but Jen didn't have them out for long as they seemed a bit too nervous for the energy of the larger group. They got out later with Wrigley, the Beagle puppy and did pretty well. At first, Wrigley wanted to play and Rizzo/Tucker weren't into that idea. They showed a little teeth as a warning, but a verbal "uh-uh" from Jen and they didn't take it any further. They allowed Wrigley to follow them around, smell at them and vice versa. We also worked a bit of Sit/Stay today. They are very stubborn! You can tell that they know the command, but are disinterested in following. We got some good Sit/Stays out of them, in time, but will continue to work this with them.
  • 7/23 - Rizzo and Tucker and doing incredibly well out in the pack now! They haven't snapped at all at any dogs in days. They are getting braver with smelling other dogs and being smelled. They aren't engaging in play, but they are showing comfort being around others who are playing. Excellent work!
  • 7/29 - Rizzo and Tucker had a good walk today. They passed by some yappy Chihuahuas with no issue. Rizzo pulled a bit, but mostly did well with "Heel". She also responded very well to commands such as "Leave-It" and "Let's Go." Tucker rocked the walk with heeling and general obedience. They were both a little more stubborn in their basic obedience work today, Tucker especially. Rizzo did well with her Sit/Stay and Down/Stay work. Tucker struggled with all of those commands today. They got some private time with Wrigley today and seemed happy to have him hanging out, but neither wanted to engage in play with him, or the larger pack later.
  • 7/30 - Tucker seemed interested in Oliver today and seemed as if he might try engage in play as the pack was running around the dog run, but he ended up raising his hackles and growling instead. He received a squirt from the hose and disengaged. After that, he was fine with Oliver and others being around him again.
