• ​10/6/21 - Rocco is settling in to his new surroundings, and has already warmed up to trainers Mark and Morgan! He is having a great time playing with the hose in the training area, and is eating like a champ. He got out on his first training walk yesterday, and we were able to observe his leash reactivity. By the end of the walk, he was responding very well to corrections. This is great initial progress, and we are very proud of Rocco!
• 10/14/21 - Rocco is continuing to work on his leash reactivity, and is doing much better on his walks. He is still pulling pretty hard on the leash, and we are working to correct that. We have now seen his aggressive reactions towards both other dogs and humans, and have begun working on these behaviors as well. Today he met a new human, Morgan's son Steven, and we were able to work though his reactivity and get him to a place of curiosity. Great progress, Rocco!
• 10/21/21 - Rocco's reactions to other dogs in their crates are lessening, and he is becoming much more calm during feeding time in particular. We continue to work on his leash reactivity with daily walks. He is still showing insecurity and leash aggression when approached by other dogs, but is becoming more responsive to correction. He has become very excited for his walks!
• 11/2/21 - Rocco crossed a milestone today, having a successful social introduction with trainer dog Drogo! Rocco was very nervous and vocal, but calmed down quickly with reassurance. He is ready to move to off-leash interactions within the next couple of days. Well done, Rocco!
• 11/10/21 - Rocco is continuing to work on his self-soothing, leash walking and social skills. We have been seeing an increase in demand barking while in his crate, especially when other dogs are being moved in and out, or he wants to go on his walk. We are working with him to reinforce self-soothing, and reinforcing the "quiet" command.
• 11/14/21 - Rocco had his best walk ever today! He is still vocalizing and experiencing initial reactivity when encountering other dogs on the walk, but was very responsive to correction and was able to keep his focus. Well done, Rocco!
