Skye - Training Photos, Videos and Updates

Pawsitive Notes - Tracking Skye's Milestones

Got a Question?

  • 2/18 - Skye is definitely nervous in her new environment and exhibiting her separation anxiety. She did a bit of complaining her first day, but has already toned down the crying a lot by the second day. She has done her submissive peeing for all staff members as well. Now, as she settles in, the work begins!
  • 2/19 - Skye has been growling occasionally, especially at the men in the office. She is still continuing to bark at times as well, but is becoming more responsive to being told "Quiet." She had a fantastic walk today. A perfect heel the whole time.
  • 2/20 - Another great walk from Skye! She has such a good heel and sits on command very well! She's still a bit nervous. She got out with Perry today and was a little on edge when he tried to play with her, snapping at him slightly. We have seen some improvements in her separation anxiety, though it still has a long way to go. She is still wetting everywhere frequently. Unfortunately, we are not seeing any improvement in this area yet.
  • 2/22 - Skye got out on a pack walk with buddy Perry today and did an excellent job. She practiced basic obedience in the run today as well and is a total rockstar, although she would rather recall to a female trainer over male. She did open up and work on confidence building with belly pets!
  • 2/25 - Skye opened up today and finally played with pack member Perry!!!
  • 3/1 - We haven't had any "accident" incidents with Skye for days!!! She is doing well going potty outside and non-submissively. She still is having some separation anxiety, but has made some progress in that area. We will continue to work that. Our pack increased today and she got out with the whole group, having a great time socializing with everyone!
  • 3/4 - Skye is still accident free and has decreased anxiety. She still will bark as soon as you go out the door or knows you are outside but haven't come in yet. We are continuing to try and work that issue.
  • 3/6 - Skye continues to do well, although the barking/crying seems to have picked up a bit again. Will continue to try and reinforce a good "Quiet."
  • 3/8 - Mark mentioned that Skye had an accident/submissive pee with him yesterday. Not sure where that came from, she's been doing so well! She hasn't had any issues today with that, although she is still being overly vocal at times. She has made a great little friend with the Whippet/Greyhound pup and is having a blast playing with him during social time.
  • 3/11 - We are on an accident free streak again, but the barking is still going. We are focusing heavily on that this week. Skye met a new friend in Abby and engaged with play. She's doing so much better socializing with new dogs although she is definitely more timid around larger ones, so we were excited to see her do so well with Pitbull Abby!
  • 3/12 - Skye has been using a bark collar the past two days and it seems to be helping a lot! She hasn't had any accidents either. She had a great walk with her buddy Perry today and worked some group obedience: Sit/Stay as well!
  • 3/15 - Skye has been doing very well with the bark collar and is still accident free. She is having a blast playing with all or her pals and her basic obedience is off the charts!
