Sunny - Training Photos, Videos and Updates

Pawsitive Notes - Tracking Sunny Page's Milestones

Got a Question?

  • 3/1/21 - Sunny's first morning went well. He was uncertain about things at first, but it didn't take Mark long to gain some trust with him and have him coming to him for brief pets/treats. Mark was also able to get some light obedience work done just to build a little more rapport. Sunny is adjusting to being around so many dogs and is not quite sure what to make of it all. Lots of barking at them and posturing thus far.
  • 3/5/21 - Sunny's definitely warming up to everyone and the other dogs in the house. His barking problem towards others have gotten a lot better and he no longer lunges at other dogs that approach his crate. This is great progress especially since he’s even been ignoring our small dog here that scrounges around his crate for spilled food.
  • 3/6/21 - After much barking and fake displays of being a tough guy, Sunny was finally ready to go play with Drogo (Mark's Italian Mastiff) and boy did he have fun! He was so happy to be able to meet Drogo, and then get into some good old fashioned romping about. Mark only had to step in twice when Sunny got a bit overzealous in his play, and Sunny took the instruction well and went back to appropriate play.
  • 3/10/21 - Sunny's been showing lots of improvement on his reactivity issues lately and has even been going down to the dog run with Drogo to play. While on his walks he’s been doing a great job at walking right by my side without pulling. He also barks at most but not all of the dogs he passes by. We’ve also been seeing improvement with his whining and barking for attention when he’s in his crate.
  • 3/14/21 - Sunny's been doing great obedience work lately and has shown lots of progress, especially when it comes to “leave it." Most of his obedience skills were already pretty good, but we’ve been working to continue strengthening that foundation. He’s been getting along with other dogs really well, but he still likes to bark when other dogs are out of their crate or passing by. We’ve been working to break this habit and luckily have been seeing slow but steady progress.
  • 3/16/21 - Sunny's biggest issue right now is his barking and whining when other dogs are being worked with or taken out. He used to do this quite often, but it’s been improving slowly but surely. He’s also been improving gradually on his walks. It seems he has worse reactions towards some dogs, while others he’ll ignore. We can definitely see improvement from when we first started walking him, however, and he continues to improve.
  • 3/19/21 - Sunny is doing better and better with the other dogs every day, but we’re still working on his barking problem. He’s been showing a ton of improvement recently and he’s starting to understand that he needs to stop when told. His walks are also going well and he’s reacting less and less to other dogs.
  • 3/23/21 - Sunny is still giving us a hard time with his barking, but it’s definitely improved quite a bit. He’s also doing a lot better on his walks and can walk past several dogs and people without reacting.
  • 3/24/21 - Leif, Sunny and Drogo went down to the dog run today to play together and they all did incredible. Everyone got along really well and we only needed a few small corrections. Sunny did a really good job at respecting the other dogs' space and backed off whenever he needed to all on his own. They all did amazing and showed us a ton of great progress today.
  • 4/2/21 - Sunny's still getting along with everyone great. His walks are still going good and he’s barely reacting to other dogs and when he does all he needs is small correction and he’ll keep walking. He did really great when Leif came out to play and even showed him his belly and initiated a lot of play.
